'Love is a very serious mental illness'

When we fall in love, our ability to rationalize becomes paralyzed and we become a slave to our emotions. Our ability to calculate become weaker, so we incur losses, but we are happy nonetheless and are able to throw our lives out there. We start to see things that we normally never saw and the things we already did see seem entirely new. Two people in love can see each others feelings without saying a word, and feel like they are together, even when they are apart.

Humans take pride in calling themselves 'rational animals', but the structure of the brain allows the emotions to supersede the rationalization. Although one can monitor one's actions and thoughts with a rational judgment, it is impossible to stop oneself from feeling emotions such as love, jealousy or hatred for others.
