Bukchon Hanok Village - Day 2 - Korea 2014

Hello all,
Trying to keep routinely posting, but really, I'm just writing a bunch and time delaying them. But I guess it's better than not posting for four months. Sorry.

Bukchon Hanok Village is an area known for its traditional style houses called hanok. The traditional village contains many alleys and is preserved to show the 600-year-okd urban environment. People currently live in these houses, and as such, the area can only be entered by non-residents between 10am-6pm as to give the residents privacy. This is good because we arrived mid-afternoon and the place was crowded!
We actually went up the wrong alley at first, but at the end there was a sign saying it was the wrong alleyway and had a map with directions on the window of a cafe. The houses, from what we could see - were beautiful and I think I'm becoming a huge fan of their traditional roofing and housing in general.
